Favorite albums of 2006:

Leigh Nash - Blue on Blue
The Violet Burning - Drop Dead
Mute Math - Mute Math
The Lonely Hearts - Paper Tapes
Gnarls Barkley - St. Elsewhere
Pristina - Stars & Sirens

Hmmm. I'll have to think more and update this later.

That's a pretty good list so far, Steve, but you left the hyphen out of Drop-Dead, which is apparently quite important according to Pritzl.

I'm inclined to agree with a lot of that list - the only one I don't own is the Gnarls Barkley album. The Mute Math and Violet Burning albums are two of my all-time favorites.

The hyphen is important? Um, ok. And The Gnarls Barkley isn't amazing, but the single was mind-numbingly catchy.

Steve, have you heard the Shawn Colvin cover of Gnarles Barkley's "Crazy"? She played it on A Prairie Home Companion a few weeks ago. It was amazing. I could dig up the link if you're interested.
